How to Get Rid of Post-gym Pain in 10 Minutes

While many of us struggle to find a cure for the constant barrage of stress and pain that life assaults us with, Dr. Tracy Ye and her nature medicine team keep exploring the answers. Here is the type of super easy DIY that you can do everyday after going to the gym or after a stressful day.
First of all, here is Dr Tracy Ye's prescription for your muscle sore and joints pain:

Magnesium Salt Bath : one pound/or one cup Epsom Salt (another name: Magnesium Salt) in one standard bath tub. Add 3 or 5 drops lavender essential oil into it. Soak your mind and body into the warm aroma water for 10-15 minutes. Sing a song while you are relaxing!

Here's the more scientific explanation:

Magnesium salt is not often something thought of by many as a “go-to” ailment for pain, though, as suggested by new research, it may be of some use to try. Magnesium, in its purest form, is a chemical element known by its shorter name “Mg” and by the atomic number 12, used in chemistry. However, when mixed sulfate and oxygen, it finds itself a new form, one the scientific community calls MgSO4. This compound, while it may seem intimidating, actually carries quite a few medical benefits. When absorbed through the skin, magnesium sulfate has a soothing affect, often relaxing tense muscles, placating headaches, and overall reducing inflammation in the body.
Some argue that many of us today are actually deficient in magnesium, and that many of our daily habits contribute to our deficiency. Things like alcohol, sugary drinks, and processed foods, some believe, have a depreciating effect on our magnesium levels. Exercise, although generally a healthy habit, actually depletes the body of magnesium through the process of sweating. So it is important, even if one lives a relatively healthy lifestyle, to ensure that one’s levels of magnesium are substancial.

Decoding Cholesterol: 8 Ways to Change Your Habits Toward Healthy

8 Ways to Change Your Habits toward Healthy

When you get your lab reports back and your MD has ordered a cholesterol test, many of my patients come in to ask me what these reports mean. Here's the quick tip for decoding those reports: HCL = HEALTHY Cholesterol
LCL = LOUSY Cholesterol

Acupuncture helps to get cholesterol levels in balance. Herbal Medicine is all natural, not pharmaceutical, with no toxins or chemicals added to suppress the natural way your body produces what it needs to do what you ask it to. Botanical Oils can often remedy the root cause of symptom producing issues in the body without requiring the kind of toxic, chemical "side effects" of prescribed and over-the-counter drugs. CALL US NOW to book a Nutritional Consultation and get a read on your HCL levels: (650) 808-0278.

In addition to coming into the clinic, here are 8 things you can do to make sure you're doing your best to help your body produce enough HCL:

1. RELAX. Stress is the number one reason that HCL is deficient for many people. Acupuncture is a 45 minute treatment and totally natural way to help bring the body's systems into balance. Your treatment is offered in an environment and atmosphere where there is NOTHING you can do but Relax. Practice Relaxing by booking regular acupuncture appointments.

2. BALANCE YOUR PROTEIN INTAKE. Protein requires a lot of HCL to digest. Be sure you've got enough HEALTHY cholesterol to support the amount of protein you're eating.

3. CHEW YOUR FOOD. Make sure to savor what you're eating. Eat the food, then drink the water--but try not to drink too much liquid while you're eating. They're separate activities, so treat them that way.

4. GET ENOUGH ZINC AND B1 in your system. We can help to balance the Zinc and Vitamin B levels in your body with Herbal Medicine and Essential Oils. CALL US NOW and book a Nutrition Consultation where we'll give you a FREE ZINC TEST! (650) 558-8118.

5. WATCH WHAT YOU INGEST. Antacids and other medications with terrible side effects take a toll on the body. Come for Acupuncture, where we can get at the root cause of digestion issues and balance your body's natural production centers. See my recent A-Z note on Facebook where I talk about the Essential Oils that are worth trying, especially if you've been regularly downing a bottle of Tums. These kinds of toxic pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter drugs shut down the natural stomach acid production before it even gets started--and you need this stomach magic to digest food and balance HCL levels. CALL US NOW to book a Nutrition Consultation and learn about the essential oils that can help you restore your own natural digestive system! (

6.TAKE IT EASY ON THE ALCOHOL. Excessive use of Alcohol robs the body of it's ability to make HCL.

7. PASS THE SALT. Sodium is needed to produce HEALTHY cholesterol in the body. Salt-free isn't the way to be.

8. GET ACUPUNCTURE. As we age, our body naturally decreases the healthy cholesterol production. Acupuncture helps to balance and revive our body's natural systems at every step of the living way. As we get older, it's more important to schedule regular acupuncture appointments so that the body stays in alignment as it goes through all of nature's changes

The Alphabet of Essential Oils

I've started a series of notes on my facebook pages, and wanted to share the essence of those notes here on my blog.

For a whole alphabet of ailments, Essential Oils can be a simple, affordable, easy-to-use "pharmaceutical alternative" to costly and sometimes toxic drugs.

Here are some oils to try that correspond with some common ailments:

Before you reach for Claritin or Allegra or something stronger, the three oils to try include Eucalyptus, Lavender and the special blend Breathe. You can apply a few drops to the back of the neck and the bridge of the nose, and maybe just a smear under the nostrils. In moments, you'll experience some relief.

B is for BACK PAIN
If your back pain is chronic, and you're tired of the smell and expense of those over the counter pharmacy cures, again, use your Eucalyptus drops where it hurts. If you'd like to add to the effectiveness, Wintergreen oil and the special blend, Deep Blue can really help to make you feel some sweet relief. Just get a friend to gently massage the drops and dabs into the small of your back and anywhere else it hurts.

If you've got a tingle coming on, and the tiny tube of expensive cream isn't working fast enough for you, use a few drops of Melaluca, Lemon Oil (which is really good added to your water every day, too), and that special blend called On Guard. This trifecta will reduce the blister's healing time and you can get back to kissing your sweetheart that much faster. Just dab the concoction on the tingle, then the sore, several times daily, and watch it disappear.

When you're feeling low, up late, and see those anti depressant commercials on tv, don't give in. Before you sign up for the side effects, why not try a few drops of Citrus Bliss, Lavender and the special blend called Elevate in a warm bath. You can add these to a diffuser and take it to work with you, or keep the wellness swirling in your bedroom or tv room and see if you don't begin to feel better. Of course, see your doctor, go to your therapist, keep your medical professionals employed--but give this a try and see if it begins to make a difference in your mood.

E is for ECZEMA
That itchy, scratchy build up of scaly dead skin on your extremities isn't something you have to suffer with. Even before you try all the regular pharmaceutical cures over the counter and behind the pharmacists window, it's worth rubbing a few drops of Helichrysum, Thyme and Geranium directly on the affected parts and see if you don't find some immediate relief.

F is for FATIGUE
Before reaching for a Red Bull, stocking up on Starbuck's or downing a 5-Hour Energy Drink there at the gas station cash register, see if dabbing some Lemongrass, Basil and Lemon behind your neck and under your nose might wake you up organically!

Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining. Patients will complain of belching, feeling bloated, and may even experience some abdominal pain. Better than any over the counter medication from the pharmacy, Peppermint, DigestZen and/or the Lemongrass you already have for fatigue can make an immediate difference in your return to feeling better. You can massage these oils directly onto the stomach, or find them in capsule form.

Rather than downing a whole roll of Tums, it's best to try some essential oils to help get at the root cause of heartburn and begin to repair the digestive system.  Try Peppermint, Ginger and/or Lemon Oil massaged topically into the chest or as a drop or two added to water. See, over a week of regular use, if you don't start to feel a kind of on-going relief.

Staying with the theme of stomach and digestive track issues that so many people are bothered by, I recommend a daily use of the Peppermint and Ginger, and add in some Orange oil massaged directly into the stomach and intestine areas. Essential oils make an immediate and on-going difference in digestive health.

The right essential oils to use include Wintergreen, Birch and Deep Blue. These are to be used topically, massaged deeply into the areas of the body that are affected, and you will feel a kind of deep and immediate relief. If you're a runner, jogger, yogi, or someone who likes to get outside and move, you want to be sure to consider having a Deep Blue Athlete's kit on hand in your gym bag. You can buy yours here:

K is to remind you to KEEP USING ESSENTIAL OILS.
Whatever your ailment or condition, there is a blend or an oil specifically for that purpose. Just keep learning & moving through the Essential Oil alphabet to find a new oil to try. Chemical free, non-toxic essential oils are so much better for the body and the environment than what you can find at Walgreen's. Try essential oils FIRST, every time you are tempted to wade through the big-pharma options at your local drug store.

Clary Sage, Lavender and Cypress oils are good for leg cramps, menstrual cramps and other kinds of cramping in the body. Simply apply a few drops to the affected area and massage them in, or add a few drops to a warm bath, and relax for 30 minutes, and feel the revitalizing, mood-enhancing benefits of these healing oils.

Now, if you're the type that can't take time off to find a dark quiet room and lay flat and keep still until the migraine goes away, then you want to be sure to have a bottle of each of these in your pocket: Helichrysm, PastTense, and Sandalwood. When you feel the first signs of a migraine coming on, put a drop or two of these oils in your hands, rub them together, and cup them over your nose and mouth. Breathe in deep. Then, to do your level best to keep the migraine storm from taking over your day, dab a drop or two behind your ears, at the base of your skull, at your temples, and rub some in to your forehead. Clients who once complained of regular migraines now carry this migraine survival kit of essential oils, and tell me that the oils work wonders--deterring the migraine when used in time, or shrinking the time it takes for the migraine storm to blow over.

Essential Oils are essential. These little drops make all the big things better by keeping you pleasant, less stressed, more healthy. I love that I've found these oils to offer to my patients and find them to be a perfect complement to Acupuncture, Herbs and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I hope you'll order a vial or two of the bottles that might help you. Here's a link to my website where you can get them:

i LOVE MAKING VIDEOS! and I really love the good that my clients feel when they leave the clinic feeling so much better than when they came in. Today, my client came in with a bad sinus infection. Within minutes of leaving the office after her acupuncture treatment, she called the front desk saying she couldn't wait for her next appointment! She had to schedule another right away! She had to schedule an appointment for her son and her husband! She was so happy she didn't have to pay for expensive antibiotics and wait for the prescription to work for her to feel better--she felt better right away! This is why I love what I do. This is why I say, "LOVE ME, LOVE MY ACUPUNCTURE!"

Dr. Tracy Ye's Adventures in Acupuncture - Just goofing around!

Be a Lover - Not a Hater

Recently, someone who is not my client posted my first one star yelp review. It through me for a loop. After careful consideration, I wrote this response to his review:

2/3/2016  Hi, All audience of this review,

I do not have a patient named Jeremy from Hacienda Heights (southern California). My practice is in San Mateo, California (northern California). I don't believe this is a "real" review of my practice.

Here Mother Teresa said :

People are unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.  Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.  Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.  Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.  Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.  Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.  Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten.  Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.  Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.  It was never between you and them anyway.

Me, Dr. Tracy Ye, I say, "Be a lover, not a hater."

Anyone can write anything about a business in Yelp. It's super easy. But it's hard for a suffering patient to find a good doctor who really cares about them! So here is what I am telling myself every day: Be a lover, not a hater. And good is not good enough, be great. And I wake up each day determined to be a great doctor, who heals people and who cares about people.

To my dearest patients, you are the best in the world!

Appreciate your time!

Have you ever had someone misrepresent themselves and say bad things about you? How did you handle it? What did you do?

Transitioning from Fertility Treatments to Maternity Care with Acupuncture

It's a joy to be able to say "congratulations" to a mother-to-be.  It's a regular thing in our clinic to get to say this--but for each woman, each couple, it's a big deal to hear.

We boast a 70-80% success rate for moving our couples from fertility treatment to maternity care. Now, over three walls in our clinic show off the happy faces of our families--complete with their latest newest additions.  It is truly the biggest influence on the happiness index that I feel as a doctor. Helping families grow is one of the most important things I get to do each and every week.

I've written a note on our facebook page that talks about the special things that acupuncture does in each trimester of a woman's pregnancy.  I talk, too, about the importance of acupuncture to ward off postpartum depression.

Read the note here: facebook note on using acupuncture to transition from fertility to maternity care

Then, be sure to watch the youtube video: video: acupuncture for maternity

Then, book your family consultation with our clinic: (650) 558-8118.

Then, share this will all your friends who are wanting new babies in 2016!
